Position: Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) for Sleep Lab support

Shift Details: Casual role with rotating shifts (7 AM-7 PM and 7 PM-7 AM), rotating weekends, no holiday requirements

Ideal Candidates: Recent graduates or experienced RTs seeking a new opportunity

*Applicants will be placed into the appropriate job title and salary based on experience and education.

*Starting hourly rates: $24.35 for CRT and $25.21 for RRT

Purpose

Under the general direction of a physician and by prescription, provides respiratory therapy services and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities. Responsibilities are performed across all patient populations and service areas.

Responsibilities

1. Evaluates the appropriateness of medical orders and interprets clinical data to optimize patient outcomes.
2. Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators. Ensures treatment parameters are met and administers medicinal gases and aerosol drugs. Inspects and tests equipment for safety and efficiency.
3. Assists in transporting mechanically ventilated patients and responds to code situations.
4. Maintains patient charts with identification and therapy information, orders repairs when needed, and demonstrates procedures to trainees and healthcare personnel. Supervises students during training.
5. Reads prescriptions, measures arterial blood gases, and reviews patient information to assess conditions and determine treatment needs, including therapy type, duration, and medication dosages.
6. Monitors patient responses to therapy, performs pulmonary function tests, and consults with physicians regarding adverse reactions.
