Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• Current Utah RCP license.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Prior experience in acute care or long-term acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic tests to assess lung capacity and gas exchange.
• Administer breathing treatments, including oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and aerosol medications.
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators for patients requiring respiratory support.
• Perform airway management, including suctioning and tracheostomy care.
• Monitor patient response to respiratory treatments and adjust care plans as needed.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment and home care techniques.
• Document patient care accurately in the medical record.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members on patient care plans.
• Respond to emergency situations, including CPR and airway emergencies.
