Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic tests to assess lung capacity and gas exchange.
• Administer breathing treatments including oxygen therapy, nebulizers, and aerosols.
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators for patients requiring respiratory support.
• Perform airway management including suctioning and tracheostomy care.
• Monitor response to therapies and adjust care plans as needed.
• Educate patients and families on equipment and home care techniques.
• Document care accurately in the medical record.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other team members on care plans.
• Respond to emergencies including CPR and airway events.

This role involves administering respiratory treatments, managing ventilators, and working closely with physicians and nursing staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic tests to assess lung capacity and gas exchange
• Administer breathing treatments, including oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and aerosol medications
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators for patients requiring respiratory support
• Perform airway management, including suctioning and tracheostomy care
• Monitor patient response to respiratory treatments and adjust care plans as needed
• Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment and home care techniques
• Document patient care accurately in the medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members on patient care plans
• Respond to emergency situations, including CPR and airway emergencies

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy
• Current Utah Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Prior experience in an acute care or long-term acute care setting preferred
