Qualifications

• Completion of respiratory care degree program.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner: TX.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Basic Life Support - CPR within 14 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administer therapy modalities (HHN, HHN/MDI, IPV, CPT, Pentamidine); meds may be given during therapy.
• Administer medical gas therapy including oxygen and HeO2.
• Perform ventilation therapies and manage life-support systems; transport ventilated patients for diagnostics.
• Conduct physiological monitoring and tests (ABG puncture, PFTs, capnography, pulse oximetry, sleep apnea assessment).
• Perform specialized procedures (CPR, bronchial lavage, transport, rehab, airway care); may work in Pulmonary Function Lab.
• Document patient care accurately in the department system.
