Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to support neonatal and adult units at Katy Hospital. The role includes patient assessment, education, and collaboration with physicians to deliver high-quality care.

Qualified candidates will hold an RRT (or CRT prior to 2019), current licensure, and BLS; ACLS/PALS/NRP or related certifications are preferred. The position requires lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or CRT prior to 2019.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner License or Temporary License.
• Basic Life Support Certification.
• Two of ACLS, PALS, NRP, CPFT, RPFT, RPSGT, Asthma Certified Educator, NRP Instructor, ACLS Instructor, PALS Instructor, or BLS Instructor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes quality patient care and safety.
• Administers medical gases, medications, and aerosols for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes and provides patient education.
• Evaluates treatment and follows physician orders for cardiopulmonary care.
• Performs arterial blood gas interpretation and related respiratory assessments.
• Maintains current knowledge through continuing education and supports departmental education.
