Job summary

Legacy Healthcare is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to serve as a Respiratory Therapist Consultant for healthcare facilities. This role emphasizes education, quality improvement, and enhancing respiratory care delivery on site.

As a consultant, you will review practices, educate staff, and collaborate with facility leadership. Travel to assigned facilities and flexible scheduling are expected to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Active state respiratory therapy license.
• Minimum of 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• Strong clinical knowledge of respiratory care practices.
• Experience in acute care, long-term care, LTACH, skilled nursing, or home respiratory care preferred.
• Excellent communication and education skills.
• Ability to work independently and interact professionally with healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite respiratory care consulting support to healthcare facilities.
• Review respiratory care practices, policies, and procedures.
• Assess respiratory therapy needs and recommend improvements.
• Provide education and training to nursing and clinical staff.
• Support proper use of respiratory equipment, including oxygen therapy, nebulizers, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilator-related care.
• Review documentation and assist with quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with facility leadership to improve respiratory care outcomes.
• Provide guidance on respiratory protocols, safety practices, and regulatory expectations.
• Identify opportunities to improve patient care, efficiency, and staff competency.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide respiratory care consulting services to healthcare facilities. This role is ideal for a knowledgeable respiratory professional who enjoys education, quality improvement, and helping healthcare teams improve respiratory care delivery.

The Respiratory Therapist Consultant will work with facility leadership and clinical teams to evaluate respiratory care practices, provide recommendations, educate staff, and support compliance with best practices.

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive pay: $35.00 - $60.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
