Job Summary And Responsibilities

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will join an established team of RTs to deliver specialized cardiopulmonary care to patients experiencing breathing issues. You will provide treatments such as breathing techniques, nebulizer treatments, ventilator management, oxygen therapies, and external ventilation support. You will use your assessment skills and critical thinking to manage diverse patient needs, develop and execute effective care plans, and ensure calm intervention in routine and emergent situations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Verify physician orders and carry out all aspects of respiratory care, documenting all respiratory activity.
• Clean and assemble equipment and maintain supply stock levels to meet patient care commitments.
• Educate and instruct patients, families, and team members on therapeutic and diagnostic procedures to ensure excellent communication.
• Possess lifesaving skills for all age groups and maintain healthcare provider certification to deliver quality care.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance and promote a team effort for timely and effective patient care.
• Fulfill continuing education requirements and maintain current licensure to meet qualifications.

Job Requirements

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner: Texas.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist.
• Basic Life Support – CPR within 14 days.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months.
