Job summary

St. Luke's Health–Sugar Land Hospital in Sugar Land, TX is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our established RT team delivering specialized cardiopulmonary care for patients with breathing issues.

You will administer therapies, manage ventilators, monitor patient status, and contribute to care plans in routine and emergent situations.

Qualifications

• Completion of respiratory care degree program, upon hire.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner: TX, upon hire and
• Registered Respiratory Therapist, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days and
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months

Responsibilities

• Administering therapy modalities including HHN/MDI, IPV, CPT and Pentamidine.
• Administering medical gas therapy including oxygen and HeO2.
• Performing ventilation therapies including life support and transport of ventilated patients.
• Conducting physiological monitoring and testing such as ABG puncture, PFTs, capnography, pulse oximetry.
• Documenting all patient care accurately in the department system.

You'll be instrumental in providing a range of treatments from breathing techniques and nebulizer treatments to ventilator management, oxygen therapies, and external ventilation support.

You'll be instrumental in providing a range of treatments from breathing techniques and nebulizer treatments to ventilator management, oxygen therapies, and external ventilation support.

• Administering therapy modalities which include, but are not limited to, Hand held Nebulizer (HHN), HHN via metered dose inhaler (HHN/MDI), Intrapulmonary Percussive Ventilation (IPV), Chest Physical Therapy (CPT), Pentamidine therapy. Medication administration may be included during these therapy modalities
• Administering medical gas therapy including oxygen and Helium-Oxygen Therapy (HeO2).
• Performing ventilation therapies, including maintenance and management of life support systems. These therapies are comprised of non-invasive and invasive ventilation therapies, as well as transport of ventilator patients to diagnostic procedures
• Performs physiological monitoring and diagnostic testing including, ABG puncture, bronchoscopy assistance, pulmonary function testing, bedside PFT's, metabolic monitoring, apnea monitoring, transcutaneous monitoring, capnography, and pulse oximetry and sleep apnea assessment.
• Performs specialized procedures which including but are not limited to, CPR, bronchial lavage, transport, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, artificial and tracheostomy airway care, and body mechanics/ambulation. Permanent or temporary assignment may be made to the Pulmonary Function Lab to perform diagnostic procedures to identify and quantify dysfunction by spirometry, gas diffusion, and body plethysmography
• Documenting all patient care accurately and completely in the required departmental documentation system

Pay Range

$34.00 - $50.58 /hour
