Position Details
  • This role is for either CASUAL - 0.0 FTE or PRN.

A Respiratory PRN role typically requires at least 1 year of prior RCP work experience. The respiratory therapist applies scientific knowledge, technical expertise, and clinical judgment to provide therapeutic, diagnostic, consultative, and supportive services for neonatal through adult patients. Active participation in resuscitative and emergent situations is required, functioning within professional and hospital standards.

Qualifications
  • Completion of respiratory therapy program.
  • Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license by the State of Wisconsin.
  • Both CRT and RRT preferred; if RRT not obtained, it is required within 6 months of hire and must remain current.
  • For PRN roles, at least 1 year of RCP work experience is preferred.
  • Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross.
  • Current PALS certification - American Heart Association training required within 6 months.
Skills and Physical Requirements
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to resolve complex clinical problems and ensure patient safety.
  • Independent work capability with effective time management and multi-tasking.
  • Ability to cope with stressful situations.
  • Interpersonal skills for collaboration with medical staff.
  • Ability to stand and walk up to 80% of the time.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and patients, assemble complex equipment, and perform fine motor tasks.
Work Schedules
  • PRN Tier I: 3 - 12 hour shifts (36 hours/6 weeks)
  • PRN Tier II: 4 - 12 hour shifts (48 hours/6 weeks)
  • PRN Tier III: 6 - 12 hour shifts (72 hours/6 weeks)

Transitioning from PRN RCP to full-time within 6 months may qualify for a sign-on bonus.
