Job summary

Origin Travel Nurses seeks a Respiratory Therapist in Memphis, TN for a 13-week assignment. The role provides intensive respiratory care and oversees patient transport, with a focus on evaluating patients and tailoring treatment plans.

You will explain treatments to patients and provide discharge education as needed. The position requires current RT certification and state licensure, with day shift coverage of 3x12.0-hour blocks.

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist certification is required.
• State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Operate physician-prescribed respiratory treatments and ventilatory equipment.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning via multiple methods.
• Monitor oximetry and capnography per policy.
• Review chest X-rays and conduct pulmonary function tests.
• Assist with procedures related to respiratory care (bronchoscopy, chest tube placement).
• Provide tracheostomy care and arterial puncture support as needed.
• Record therapy data and communicate results with physicians.
• Maintain accurate respiratory therapy charging and assist in equipment maintenance.
