Job summary

Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, RI seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner II to provide respiratory therapy and diagnostics. You will assess and document patient care with attention to age-specific needs, and may lead the section during your shift.

Required licensure and NBRC RRT or progress toward it, plus BLS and ACLS/PALS certifications. A two‑year acute care background is preferred; NRP is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Current State RCP license required.
  • NBRC RRT certification or within 3 months of hire.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred/within 60 days.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program preferred.
  • 2 years acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered.
  • Assess, plan, implement and document patient care with appropriate age/population considerations.
  • Lead RCP duties during shift when assigned.

Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred

Responsibilities

Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director or manager, the Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) is responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the ordering provider. Emphasis will be toward the assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population‑specific needs and requirements of the patient. May on occasion be assigned/identified as Lead RCP, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift.

Qualifications
  • Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
  • Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is preferred.
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
  • Two (2) years of acute care experience is preferred.
