Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive cardiopulmonary assessments and diagnostic testing.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders.
• Administer respiratory therapies including medical gas therapy, aerosol and humidity therapy, airway clearance techniques, and ventilation support.
• Conduct patient rounds and collaborate with physicians and the care team to optimize outcomes.
• Maintain equipment and ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards.

You'll perform diagnostic evaluations, administer therapeutic treatments, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to deliver exceptional patient care across a variety of clinical settings.## What You'll DoAs a Respiratory Therapist, your responsibilities include:* Perform comprehensive cardiopulmonary assessments and diagnostic testing* Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders* Perform pulmonary function testing, blood gas analysis, sleep studies, and other invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures* Administer respiratory therapies, including: + Medical gas therapy + Aerosol and humidity therapy + Airway clearance techniques + Artificial airway management + Invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation + Vascular catheter insertion, management, and care + Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS)* Assess patient response to therapy and modify treatment plans based on clinical assessment and established protocols* Conduct regular patient rounds and collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes* Participate in the management of acute and chronic respiratory diseases* Support hemodynamic monitoring and critical care interventions* Assist with discharge planning and patient education* Respond to Rapid Response and Code Blue events while providing advanced respiratory support* Maintain respiratory therapy equipment and ensure compliance with quality, safety, infection prevention, and regulatory standards* Precept new Respiratory Therapists and Resident Nurse students as assigned* Maintain required certifications, including additional American Heart Association certifications based on the assigned facility.
