Job summary

Birchwood Park Rehabilitation and Nursing is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for our Long Term Care Unit. The RT will assess, diagnose, and treat adults' cardiopulmonary needs, delivering appropriate care with compassion in a resident-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Must have Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• VA Respiratory Care Practitioner License in good standing.
• Current NBRC credentials (RRT, RPFT, CPFT or RRT-NPS).
• BLS for Healthcare Providers from AHA.
• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred or to supplement credentialing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and provide therapeutic interventions for the adult cardiopulmonary system.
• Administer appropriate care with consideration of age and development.
• Provide compassionate care and identify limitations, seeking resources as needed.

Responsibilities Of The Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Responsible for assessment, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions affecting the cardiopulmonary system for adults. Selects and administers the appropriate care, taking into consideration the age, development level and size of the patient. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing. Should be able to identify own limitations and seek appropriate resources, as needed.
