Job summary

Collingswood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Rockville, MD is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide skilled assessment, treatment, and education to residents with complex pulmonary needs across the care continuum.

This PRN opportunity offers shifts from 7am–7pm or 7pm–7am with an all-inclusive hourly rate of $40–$55, plus benefits such as tuition reimbursement, EAP, and 401(k) with match.

Qualifications

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
  • Current state licensure required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred.
  • Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management in skilled nursing facility, LTACH, or hospital setting required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive chest assessments and respiratory examinations for a diverse resident population.
  • Consult with physicians and interdisciplinary team to develop and modify treatment plans.
  • Perform diagnostic testing, including lung capacity measurements and blood gas evaluation.
  • Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Manage and monitor ventilator-dependent residents, including initiation of ventilator support when necessary.
  • Monitor residents’ respiratory status and ensure proper functioning of equipment.
  • Educate residents and families on respiratory treatments, equipment use, and medication administration.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, assessments, and progress.

  • Perform diagnostic testing, including lung capacity measurements and evaluation of blood gas levels.

  • Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.

  • Manage and monitor ventilator-dependent residents, including initiation of ventilator support when necessary.

  • Conduct regular monitoring of residents’ respiratory status and ensure proper functioning of respiratory equipment.

  • Educate residents and families on respiratory treatments, equipment use, and medication administration.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, assessments, and resident progress in accordance with clinical standards.


Qualifications for Respiratory Therapist:


  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care required.

  • Current state licensure required.

  • Minimum of 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred.

  • Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management in a skilled nursing facility, LTACH, or hospital setting required.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage residents, families, and clinical teams.
