Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a Pulmonary Tech II to provide routine respiratory care, monitor ventilator care, and supervise rehabilitation patients. The role includes managing vent devices (BiPAP/CPAP), coordinating patient education, and contributing to inpatient pulmonary rehab evaluations.

Ideal candidates have a respiratory care license with NBRC certification, BLS, and 1–3 years of experience.

Qualifications

• High school plus trade or vocational school in Respiratory Care.
• New Mexico Respiratory Care License required.
• Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician from NBRC required.
• BLS certification.
• One to three years of experience in Respiratory Care, preferred.

Responsibilities

• All Pulmonary Tech II responsibilities.
• Maintains and monitors adult and pediatric ventilators and BiPAP/CPAP; uses respiratory monitors and performs setup, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Performs intubations per department protocol.
• Performs routine ET and trach tube maintenance.
• Assesses respiratory status and conducts weaning parameter evaluations.
• Educates patients on respiratory care issues.
• Conducts Phase I Inpatient Pulmonary Rehab evaluations and education.
• Attends meetings and participates in committees as needed.
• Follows cardio-respiratory protocols for routine care and care discontinuation.
• Precepts/mentors new and promoted staff.

• Assists with patient education as it pertains to respiratory care issues.
• Conducts Phase I Inpatient Pulmonary Rehab evaluations and education.

• Assesses, initiates, performs and discontinues routine respiratory care responsibilities per cardio respiratory protocols
