Job summary

Johnstown Pointe in Ohio is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care for residents, including ABG analysis, heated high-flow therapy, and tracheostomy management.

You will monitor invasive and non-invasive ventilation, participate in ventilator weaning protocols, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to tailor care plans, educate residents and families, and maintain detailed records in compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
• Active Ohio licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
• BLS and ACLS certifications; NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform ABG analysis and interpret results.
• Administer heated high-flow therapy and manage tracheostomies.
• Monitor invasive and non-invasive ventilation settings and wean when appropriate.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our esteemed team. This role will play a crucial part in providing comprehensive respiratory care to our residents, including arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis, heated high-flow therapy, tracheostomy procedures, invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation management, and ventilator weaning.

Responsibilities

• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and interpret results accurately.
• Administer heated high-flow therapy and oversee tracheostomy procedures, including removal and insertion.
• Monitor and optimize settings for both invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation systems.
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans, including ventilator weaning protocols.
• Provide education and support to residents and their families regarding respiratory care techniques and equipment usage.
• Maintain detailed patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
• Valid Ohio licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NRP certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, preferably in long-term care or skilled nursing facilities.
• Experience in ventilator management and weaning protocols highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
