Job summary

Anne Carlsen Center in Jamestown, ND is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform pulmonary assessments, testing, treatment, and care for infants, pediatrics and young adults with cardiorespiratory deficiencies. The role includes maintaining equipment, consulting with staff, and coordinating plans with nurses and physicians.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited respiratory care program, ND Respiratory Care Practitioner license, at least 1 year of experience, and BLS/PALS

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited respiratory care program.
• Current, unencumbered license from the State of North Dakota as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• One year of respiratory therapy experience.
• BLS Certification.
• PALS Certification.
• Valid driver license.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, modify and coordinate respiratory treatment plans for infants to young adults.
• Assess and adjust respiratory equipment settings and provide equipment guidance to staff.
• Perform diagnostic respiratory testing and ensure equipment readiness.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to meet patient respiratory and overall needs.

Location: Jamestown, ND
Shift: 4-5 Days a Week, Flexible Hours (No Weekends or Holidays)
Job Schedule: Full Time
Weekly Hours: 40

JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to perform pulmonary assessments, testing techniques, treatment, management, control, and care for infants, pediatrics and young adults with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiorespiratory systems. This position on their daily shift assesses and maintains respiratory equipment and supplies; and provides consultation to other staff in the care of these clients.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or years’ experience required:

• Graduate of an accredited respiratory care program
• Possess a current, unencumbered license from the State of North Dakota, as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
• One year of respiratory therapy experience
• BLS Certification
• PALS Certification
• Valid drivers license

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

• Three years Respiratory Therapy Experience
• Experiences with respiratory equipment such as CPT, suction, pulse oximeters, ventilators, HFNC, heated/cool mists, cough assist, CPAP/Bilevel Oxygen analyzers, End tidal CO2 monitors, Bernoulli alarm system, concentrators, and nebulizers

Supervision of others/decision making aptitude (if applicable): This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES (scope and complexity):

This position assumes the authority, responsibility and accountability for evaluating, modifying and coordinating respiratory treatment plans; evaluating equipment settings, making adjustments and recommendations as needed; and for completing diagnostic respiratory testing to and for the clients at ACC.
The Respiratory Therapist will work with nursing staff and physician to best meet the respiratory and overall needs of the individuals served.
