Job summary

Health System Services is seeking a Respiratory Therapist in New York state for flexible Full-Time, Part-Time, or Per-Diem roles. You will set up CPAP/BIPAP/NHV therapy, perform ventilation checks, and educate patients on respiratory care in clinic and home settings.

The position emphasizes compassionate patient interaction, comprehensive documentation, and collaboration with local hospitals to coordinate referrals. A state license and accredited program completion are required.

Qualifications

• Must have graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Respiratory Therapist license in the corresponding state is required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Set up CPAP, BIPAP, and NHV therapy in office and at home.
• Conduct ventilation checks and oxygen titration for patients on conserving devices.
• Instruct patients on equipment use and disease state education.
• Set up neonatal to adult patients on ventilators and perform monthly service checks.
• Schedule all patient equipment setups, follow-ups, mask refits, and related tasks.
• Maintain detailed call logs of communications and appointments.
• Enter patient data into CPAP compliance tracking system.
• Follow up on patient progress to improve adherence.

About the Position

• Set patients up on CPAP, BIPAP, and NHV therapy in office and in their homes.
• Conduct ventilation checks, oxygen titration/evaluation for O2 patients on conserving devices and POC’s.
• Provide instruction on use of equipment and education on respiratory disease state.
• Set up neonatal to adult patients on ventilators and performing monthly service checks while coordinating with local hospitals and referrals.
• Schedule all patient equipment set ups, follow ups, mask refits, etc.
• Keep detailed call logs of all phone communication, phone call attempts, and scheduled appointments.
• Instruct patients thoroughly on use of all Respiratory Equipment.
• Enter patient data into CPAP compliance tracking program.
• Follow up on patient progress, work to increase patient compliance.

What You Have to Offer

• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program, required.
• Respiratory Therapist license in the corresponding state, required.
• Exceptional organizational skills.
• Friendly, warm personality.
• One year of experience in the DME industry, preferred.
• Valid and clean driver’s license.

Compensation

• $36.00 - $43.00 per hour, dependent on experience and geographical area

Shift:

• Flexible scheduling with Per-Diem and Part-Time shifts
