Job summary

Avenue at Broadview Heights is seeking a qualified and compassionate Respiratory Therapist for both full and part time on Nights to provide specialized respiratory care in our Ventilator Unit. This role is responsible for delivering high‑quality respiratory services to residents with complex needs while working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team.

You will provide ventilator care, perform assessments, document treatments, and participate in weaning and tracheostomy support.

Qualifications

• Licensed RT (state) in the employed state.
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Experience with ventilator-dependent residents required.
• LTACH/long-term care experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to ventilator-dependent residents.
• Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators and equipment.
• Perform respiratory assessments and administer prescribed treatments.
• Provide tracheostomy care and support ventilator weaning.
• Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and condition changes.
• Document assessments, treatments, and resident responses accurately.
• Collaborate with nursing, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Maintain infection control, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.

Job Duties

• Provide respiratory care to ventilator‑dependent residents
• Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators and respiratory equipment
• Perform respiratory assessments and administer prescribed treatments
• Provide tracheostomy care and support ventilator weaning as ordered
• Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and changes in resident condition
• Accurately document assessments, treatments, and resident responses
• Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
• Maintain compliance with infection control standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Current and valid Respiratory Therapist (RT or RRT) license in the state of employment
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Experience with ventilator‑dependent patients required
• Skilled nursing, long‑term care, or LTACH experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
