Job description

Requirements

• Respiratory Therapist credential by the NBRC, and CPR certification required.
• At least eighteen months of respiratory care experience preferred, ideally in a critical care setting.

Duties & Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Respiratory Therapist is to evaluate, treat, and care for patients with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders.

• Provide respiratory care to patients per physician orders and established policies and procedures.
• Participate in the development and/or implementation of patient care plans.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain good customer relations; communicate professionally with management, coworkers, staff, patients, and families.
• Instruct patients and caretakers on therapy methods and objectives.
• Accurately prepare and update patient records.
