Responsibilities:

  1. Administers aerosol therapy, chest physical therapy, and oximetry evaluations to non-critical patients.
  2. Performs Basic Life Support activities.
  3. Teaches and demonstrates respiratory care activities to patients and their representatives.
  4. Cleans, assembles, sets up, and maintains equipment and supplies.
  5. Performs non-invasive respiratory care procedures as ordered under the supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist.

Description:

This role involves assisting with respiratory therapies, patient education, and equipment management under supervision.

Required Hours: PRN Variable Day Shift

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: Currently enrolled in an AMA-approved respiratory care program and completed one semester. Active student status must be maintained and documented. Must submit a letter of recommendation from Program Director.
  • Minimum Experience: Completed a student respiratory floor therapy rotation.
  • Licensure/Certification: None required by law. Current BLS certification required. ACLS certification required within 60 days of hire or after the second semester of the respiratory care program.

Additional Qualifications: Maintain all required respiratory care competencies.
