St. Mary''s Medical Center in West Palm Beach is seeking a Respiratory Student Extern for a per diem role. The extern will participate in assembling, transporting, disinfecting and calibrating respiratory equipment, under the direction of a Respiratory Therapist.

Responsibilities include assisting therapists, maintaining equipment, and supporting patient care activities as needed in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Actively enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Preferred: 2nd year Respiratory Therapy student with previous healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, transport, disinfect, calibrate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment.
• Under supervision of a Respiratory Therapist, assist with procedures and tasks.
• Maintain equipment in various work areas and ensure readiness for use.

Responsible for performing multiple duties that require experience in the assembly, transport, disinfection, calibration and troubleshooting of respiratory related equipment. The Respiratory Student Extern works under the direction of a Respiratory Therapist. The extern is responsible for maintaining an appropriate level of equipment in the various work areas and assisting Respiratory Therapists with various procedures and tasks as directed.

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Actively enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program

• Previous experience with assembly and cleaning or respiratory equipment
