Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Respiratory Equipment Technician to maintain, clean and assemble respiratory therapy equipment at our hospital. You will manage stock, order supplies and service the central gas system, ensuring proper documentation and safety.

The role requires strong communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to work with nursing, pharmacy and transport staff. On-call hours and adherence to infection control standards are expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, and/or GED equivalent programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that include Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, cleans and assembles respiratory equipment.
• Orders supplies, manages the cylinder inventory and services central gas system.
• Documents data and findings in logs, service reports and medical records where applicable.
• Maintains PAR levels of supplies and documents purchase orders.
• Manages stock of supplies and ensures organized, clean stock areas.
• Receives, documents and stores medical gases per site protocol.
• Performs oxygen safety rounds and monitors gas manifolds.
• Manages medication inventory and remote medication carts where applicable.
• Collaborates with nursing, pharmacy and transport staff to ensure patient safety.
• Provides on-call hours as needed.
