Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Respiratory Equipment Technician to assist in preparing, transporting, and testing respiratory therapy equipment in both routine and emergency situations. Under supervision, you will ensure equipment is ready for use and comply with infection control procedures.

Responsibilities include rounds to deliver and set up equipment, maintain records, and provide initial guidance to new employees and students.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with ability to read graphs and gauges.
• Strong numerical and clerical skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, check, set up equipment such as respirators and oxygen cylinders.
• Check emergency carts and ensure equipment is operational for emergencies.
• Disassemble and clean equipment; perform minor maintenance and battery changes.
• Respond to routine and emergency calls to deliver and test equipment.
• Maintain records for patients, equipment and billing charges.
• Provide guidance and initial instruction to new employees and students in the area.
• Observe infection control procedures such as wearing masks and gloves.
