Job summary

Catholic Health is seeking a Respiratory Equipment Technician to support Respiratory Therapists by cleaning and disinfecting non-disposable respiratory therapy equipment and by managing disposable equipment and oxygen cylinders across the hospital.

The role involves disassembling, cleaning, decontaminating equipment, stocking supplies, requisitioning inventory, and maintaining airway management boxes to support patient care on the Long Island campus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in inventory management preferred but candidates willing to learn will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Disassembles, cleans, decontaminates and reassembles Respiratory Therapy equipment per policy.
• Stocking and maintaining oxygen cylinders and disposable respiratory equipment throughout the hospital.
• Requisitions departmental inventory and ensures adequate stock in department and hospital locations.
• Maintains airway management boxes and assists with related duties as needed.

Responsibilities

Respiratory Equipment Technician provides support to the Respiratory Therapist by cleaning, disinfecting non-disposable respiratory therapy equipment. The position is also responsible for ordering, stocking and maintaining disposable respiratory equipment and oxygen cylinders throughout the hospital.

• Disassembles, cleans, decontaminates and reassembles all Respiratory Therapy equipment according to department policy and procedure, and if damaged, brings to the attention of a supervisor.


• Responsible for stocking and maintaining adequate supply of oxygen cylinders throughout the hospital.


• Requisitions all departmental inventory as needed and stocks appropriately in the department and in various locations throughout the hospital.


• Responsible for stocking and maintaining airway management boxes.


• Performs other related duties as assigned, such as cleaning and maintaining department in excess of cleaning performed by Housekeeping department.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required


• Experience in inventory management preferred but willing to train candidate that possess the necessary skills to learn

Salary Range

USD $25.61 - USD $39.80 /Hr.
