Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a Respiratory Equipment Technician to ensure respiratory care equipment is properly functioning. The role requires disassembling, cleaning, reassembling and performing preventive maintenance, then verifying operational readiness and documenting charges for modalities rendered.

This position also manages consumable and capital inventory, ships warranty items for repair, and identifies repairs that can be performed in-house.

Qualifications

• High school graduate (or GED) required.
• Previous work experience with respiratory care equipment preferred.
• Employee must be able to work the day or evening shift and every other weekend.”

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, reassemble, and perform preventive maintenance on respiratory care equipment.
• Verify operational readiness of equipment.
• Maintain appropriate consumable and capital inventory levels.
• Document charges in the computer for modalities rendered on the previous day.
• Ship warranty items for repair and identify repairs that can be done internally.
• Order items through Central Supply and maintain a clean work area.
