Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Respiratory Supervisor to oversee clinical and technical aspects of respiratory services on shift. The role includes supervising staff, ensuring adherence to department policies, and coordinating competencies with Educator to meet deadlines.

Qualifications include an Associates degree in Applied Sciences and AMA accredited Respiratory Care program, with 2+ years as staff therapist and 1–3 years supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Applied Sciences.
• Graduate of an AMA accredited Respiratory Care program.
• Minimum of 2 years as a staff therapist.
• 1–3 years supervisor or manager experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and technical supervision to staff on each shift.
• Regularly reviews staff performance via daily auditing and/or daily rounding to assure adherence to department policies and procedures.
• Counsels staff members, administers and documents appropriate disciplinary actions or coaching opportunities when policy and procedures are not followed.
• Coordinates yearly competencies with the department Educator along with department to ensure timely completion before the given deadline.
• Performs therapeutic procedures consistent with the duties and responsibilities of Respiratory Therapist for all age groups.
• Ensures equipment is returned, cleaned and processed according to department protocol.
• Coordinates activities to ensure prompt delivery of quality patient care.
• Completes employee evaluations annually according to the HackensackUMC performance management process.
• Provides mid-year coaching sessions to employees.
