Job summary

SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital in Missouri is seeking a Respiratory Care Student (PRN) to gain hands-on experience under supervision. You will assist with evaluations and therapies and learn from a team of qualified Respiratory Care Practitioners while enrolled in your Respiratory Therapy program.

Enrollment in a Respiratory Therapy program is required; Missouri Respiratory Education Permit and BLS HCP certification are needed.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy program.
• Missouri Respiratory Education Permit required for hire.
• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments to patients under supervision.
• Delivers and assesses patient response to therapy.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition.
• Provides patient education for diseases, medications, and treatment.
• May respond to Medical Emergencies and Rapid Responses.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
