Virtus Healthcare Staffing seeks dedicated Respiratory Care Practitioners to join the Respiratory Therapy Department at our partner, a leading Level II Trauma Center and Children's Hospital in Spokane, WA. Multiple full-time opportunities with variable shifts are available.

Position Summary:

As a department-based Respiratory Therapist, you will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of contemporary respiratory therapy principles and practices. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team in planning and implementing patient care plans. This role requires successful completion of department and unit-specific orientations and involves assisting physicians with the delivery and direction of respiratory therapy services across diverse patient populations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care, potentially including operating and maintaining complex ventilatory support systems (invasive and non-invasive), monitoring devices, and resuscitation equipment.
• Administer various respiratory care procedures, conduct patient assessments, perform diagnostic procedures (as qualified), and manage oxygen therapy according to physician orders and protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians and nursing staff in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
• Adhere to established protocols and demonstrate proficiency in areas relevant to the assigned patient population and unit (potentially including adult, pediatric, and neonatal critical care).
• Participate in patient care functions for which you are qualified and trained.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communication regarding patient status and care provided.
• Complete required departmental and unit-specific orientation programs.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Required).
• License: Current Washington State Respiratory Care Practitioner License (Required).
• Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association (Required); Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (Required).
