Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) to provide pediatric respiratory care across NICU, PICU, and general units. You will assess, treat, and monitor neonates through adolescents with specialized ventilation and therapy.

The role requires an Illinois-licensed RCP with NBRC CRT, BLS, and 1+ year of pediatric or critical care experience preferred. Competitive benefits, training, and advancement opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a CoARC-accredited program in respiratory care.
  • Minimum requirement: Associate Degree in Respiratory Care.
  • Illinois licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in good standing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform respiratory care per policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Assess patients and analyze lab and diagnostic data to inform care plans.
  • Institute, monitor, and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment and ventilation.
  • Administer inhaled medications and perform airway clearance and lung expansion therapies.
  • Initiate and monitor therapeutic gases (oxygen, heliox, nitric oxide).
  • Communicate with families and multidisciplinary teams to identify needs.
