Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner II to perform respiratory therapy and diagnostics under medical direction. Emphasis will be on assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care, with consideration of patient needs.

May lead the RCP team during a shift. Required are an active RCP license, NBRC RRT, BLS and ACLS/PALS certifications, with NRP obtainable within the first 60 days.

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from NBRC or obtained within 3 months of hire.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC upon hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification from AHA or ARC upon hire and maintained.
• PALS certification from AHA or ARC upon hire and maintained or obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certificate required upon hire or within 60 days.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care preferred.
• Two years of acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by physician.
• Focus on patient assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care.
• May be designated Lead RCP, responsible for the section or department during shift.

Overview

• Schedule: Full-time 12 hour shift nights 7 pm to 7 am
• Facility: Resurrection Medical Center

Responsibilities

Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director or manager, the Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) is responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the ordering provider. Emphasis will be toward the assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population specific needs and requirements of the patient. May on occasion be assigned/identified as Lead RCP, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift.

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
• Two (2) years of acute care experience is preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $37.00 to $49.80.
