Schedule and PRN Requirement: 6:45 am - 7:15 pm / PRN requirement is at least two 12-hour shifts per schedule.

The Respiratory Care Practitioner provides respiratory care to patients in acute, chronic, and emergency situations. Responsibilities include accurately documenting respiratory care, selecting and checking equipment, and performing related duties.

  • Equipment and Supplies: Select, assemble, and check respiratory care equipment for proper function, operation, and cleanliness; perform minor repairs as needed.
  • Professional Development: Collaborate with the manager to develop a professional growth plan. Attend educational in-services and participate in professional activities to stay current with trends and practices.
  • Reporting/Data Management: Document respiratory care accurately to show patient progress and condition changes.
  • Safety and Hygiene: Follow universal precautions and maintain sterilization of surfaces and equipment.
  • Staff Education: May lead in-service educational programs related to respiratory care.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • Licensed Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) by the state of Georgia.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per American Heart Association standards.
  • ACLS and/or NRP may be required in specific departments.

PRN Salary:

  • $45.00/hour (flat rate)
  • Shift differentials are available.

Preferred at least two years of experience. Candidates should possess strong problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, and time management skills. Proficiency in ventilator management, blood gas analysis, trach care, internal transports, and Rapid Response skills is required. Willingness to learn intubation, extubation, and arterial line insertions is also necessary.
