Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Care Practitioner to provide comprehensive respiratory care, including patient assessment, planning, intervention, education, and evaluation. The role involves performing procedures within the scope of license, monitoring patient responses, and adjusting therapies accordingly.

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Care License in the state of employment (required)
• National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentialed (required)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (preferred)
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS, PALS certifications (preferred)
• Valid driver’s license (for Home Care/DME)

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field (preferred)
• Previous experience in ambulatory or acute care settings (preferred)
• 6 months of Respiratory Therapy experience in a general care area (preferred)

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct patient assessments and develop care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
2. Perform treatments and therapies as ordered, explaining procedures to patients and modifying treatments based on response.
3. Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to policies, safety, and infection control standards.
4. Educate patients and caregivers on respiratory therapies and device use.
5. Set up and maintain respiratory equipment and supplies.
6. Potentially serve as a preceptor for new staff or students.
7. Respond to cardio-pulmonary emergencies and participate in resuscitations as needed.
