Children's National Hospital is seeking Respiratory Care Practitioners (Levels I, II, III) to provide critical care in pediatric settings. Candidates should possess relevant certifications and experience in acute and critical care environments. We offer competitive salaries with a sign-on bonus up to $30,000.

Under general direction of the department manager, the Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for administering all levels of Respiratory Care to treat patients with cardiopulmonary dysfunction and/or disabilities. RCP Levels I-III function at levels customary for Acute Care and ER. The RCP-I maintains skills to provide safe, effective care to patients of all ages, including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, and adults.
The RCP-III, under the same general direction, performs at an advanced level in Acute Care, ER, and two Critical Care units (PICU, NICU, CICU), serving as a clinical resource and preceptor. Maintains skills to provide safe, effective care across all ages.
Minimum Work Experience: 5 years, including 2 years in pediatric/neonatal critical care.
Required Skills/Knowledge: Competency in acute care, ER, and ICU procedures; advanced mechanical ventilator skills; ability to perform CPR, invasive and noninvasive monitoring; ability to work independently and serve as a preceptor; adherence to policies; effective communication; stress management; compassion; mathematical skills; ongoing education; physical ability to perform treatments and lift up to 50 lbs; basic computer skills.
Required Licenses and Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist, RCP License from DC DOH, BLS, PALS.
