Compensation Range:

Anticipated Base compensation rate is in the range of $41.54 - $60.52 / Hour depending on qualifications and experience.*12 hour shifts at Huntington Health are overtime-based (not a straight time rate for all 12 hours). Therefore, employees who work a full 12-hour shift will be paid their base rate for 8 hours AND overtime (1.5) for hours up to 12.

Expectations:

Responsible for the delivery of Respiratory Care to inpatients and outpatients requiring licensed practitioner skill levels to intervene in complex patient care situations. Assumes responsibility for policy and procedure formulations, quality management activities and collaborative committee participation. Assumes evaluator responsibility for new hires and others as directed within area of responsibility. Assists with clinical based research projects related to defining/monitoring appropriateness and effectiveness of delivered respiratory care. Performing work in accordance with physician orders. Defined duties are performed in the neonatal, pediatric and adult patient populations in floor, intermediate, intensive and emergency care areas. Functional breakdown of responsibilities: Patient Care Duties (85%); Continuing Education (5%); Performance Improvement (5%); Professional Development (3%); Evaluator/Mentorship (2%). This position may require flexibility of hours.
This position requires the ability to take on-call for patients requiring emergency procedures and transports.

EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited school by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Diploma or transcripts on highest degree earned required.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
Two years experience as a Critical Care RCP preferred for applicable Age Specific patient population: neonatal, pediatrics and adults. Work experience that promotes group/team working relationships preferred.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Required:
Current unrestricted Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) issued by Respiratory Care Board of California
Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by National Board for Respiratory Care
Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider (PALS) issued by American Heart Association
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification if working in NICU
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Provider (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association if working on Intubation Team and/or as Lead, Respiratory Care Practitioner

Preferred:
NPS if working in NICU/PEDS
Active member of American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Provider (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association if working in Adult Critical Care area

SKILLS:
Knowledge necessary to make appropriate clinical decisions and interactions relative to the specific age of a patient. Work involves contact with patients of all ages, family members, physicians, nursing, and all other members of the health care tam. Work is performed in all areas of HH.
Demonstrates knowledge of e-mail, computer input and word processor applications.
Must maintain annual skill requirements.
