Job summary

Saint Luke’s Health System in the Kansas City area seeks a part-time Respiratory Therapist to support the cardiopulmonary scope. You will perform testing, patient assessments, treatment planning and interventions, and report clinical responses to the team.

RRT is required by start date; Basic Life Support certification is expected; scheduling may include day shifts with opportunities for professional growth within a large health system.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year experience required.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• License-Respiratory Therapy recognized to practice.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and metabolic testing and patient assessments.
• Plan treatment and provide therapeutic interventions.
• Analyze and report clinical responses to the medical team.
• Educate patients and families and assist with discharge planning.

Job description

Job Description Performs all aspects of the scope of practice of a respiratory therapist and where applicable cardiopulmonary scope of practice. Scope of practice includes but is not limited to diagnostic and metabolic testing patient assessment treatment planning and therapeutic interventions analysis and reporting of clinical response. Therapists work in collaboration with the medical staff and other members of the health care team to support efficient cost effective and quality patient and family care as well as providing patient and family education and discharge planning. The position supports system facility and department growth and quality through participation in performance improvement activities continuing education and professional growth and development activities along with other duties as assigned. RRT required by start date. Shift: Part-time - Days
