Qualifications

• Assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, spiritual and educational needs and document accordingly.
• Perform respiratory therapy treatments and monitor all related equipment and services.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams to ensure quality care.
• Maintain safety protocols and respond to emergencies as part of the care team.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical, psychosocial, spiritual & cultural dimensions of the patient as well as educational needs and document appropriately.
• Performs all respiratory therapy treatments and services, including oxygen, humidity, ventilators, bronchial hygiene, lung expansion, spirometry, EKG, and blood gas analysis.
• Employs therapeutic communication, problem solving and crisis intervention during patient care.
• Responds to CPR needs by maintaining airway and providing ventilation as required.
• Reviews EMR and physician orders, supports workflow efficiency and suggests improvements.
