Children’s Health in Cityville Dallas is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) Clinical Coordinator to lead respiratory care services in the Pulmonary Practice. You will evaluate patients, guide families and staff, and coordinate education across clinical settings, phone, and telehealth.

The role emphasizes collaboration with physicians and nurses to personalize care plans for patients with respiratory conditions.

Qualifications

  • Two-year Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Four-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NBRC"s recognition and Texas license active.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prescribe, delegate, and coordinate patient care using clinical judgment and guidelines.
  • Care for patients aged 0–22 years with strong organizational skills.
  • Deliver care with teamwork and sound clinical judgment based on evidence-based practice.
  • Provide direct patient care including ventilation, aerosol therapy, and oxygen therapy.

Shift: Tuesday and Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm - PRN status

Summary

The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) Clinical Coordinator is responsible for direct and indirect patient care. Duties include evaluating patients’ respiratory health status, offering guidance to patients, families, and healthcare colleagues, and employing the respiratory care process for medication administration, diagnostic tests, and equipment instruction. The position also involves delivering personalized education to patients and families via telephone, virtual platforms, and clinical settings. The RCP Clinical Coordinator collaborates with physicians and nurses to develop and implement tailored care plans and strategies for patients with specific respiratory conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Prescribe, delegate, and coordinate patient care; use clinical judgment based on respiratory skills and evidence-based guidelines to assess the patient’s situation and develop an appropriate plan of care to promote comfort.
  • Provide care appropriate for patients ranging in age from 0–22 years; demonstrate effective organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Deliver care with team orientation, emphasizing good customer relations, sound clinical judgment, and appropriate decision-making based on evidence-based practice.
  • Provide direct patient care including mechanical ventilation, aerosol therapy, pulmonary hygiene, suctioning, oxygen therapy, inhaled gases, and medication.
Education
  • Two‑year Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Four‑year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) recognized by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) and an active Texas license required.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements.
