Qualifications

• Certificate/education in Respiratory Care as described above.
• CA license to practice Respiratory Care upon hire.
• RR Therapists must be registered and CPR certified.
• ACLS, PALS, and NRP required or within specified timeframes.
• EKG/EEG certifications or experience per EEG-related duties.

Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory care per physician orders under supervision.
• Manage ICU critical care equipment and adjust care plans.
• Communicate clearly with patients and the care team using SBAR and handoffs.
• Adhere to department policies and ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.
• Attend department meetings or review minutes to stay updated.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP), you will be a vital clinical professional, dedicated to providing high-quality respiratory care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric critical care patients.

Every day, under medical and departmental direction, you'll deliver essential respiratory care per physician orders and policies. You'll ensure critical care services are met, meticulously manage equipment, and adapt care plans to optimize patient outcomes.

To be successful, you'll combine strong clinical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication, and a compassionate approach, directly contributing to healing and recovery in critical care.

• Communicates effectively with the patients including all the following: a. Acknowledges and identifies patient two patient identifiers b. Introduces self as a respiratory therapist c. Describes therapy involved and how long it will take d. Ends therapy properly
• Communicates well with fellow therapists including the following: a.Patient hand off thorough report on patients b.Clearly
• informs others of issues not directly related to patient care c. Seeks guidance, direction, and assistance when needed d.Uses chain of command e.Uses SBAR when appropriate
• Communicates effectively with physicians and nursing staff regarding patients care plan and implementation of any protocols
• Stays informed of information in the department by reading/signing directives
• Either attends department meetings or reads and signs the department minutes

Job Requirements

Required

• Certificate Other two year Respiratory Care Program preferred or currently enrolled in a program. and, upon hire and
• Respiratory Care Practitioner: CA, upon hire and
• Registered Respiratory Therapist, within 12 - months and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months and
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire and
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program, within 6 - months
• Employees assigned to EEG, EKG, EMG must have EKG and EEG certification within the last 5 years or 1 year of experience in the operation of electrocardiographic, electromyelographic and electroencephalographic equipment.

Preferred

• 1 year of experience in the operation of electrocardiographic, electromyelographic and electroencephalographic equipment.
• Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) experience preferred
