Emory Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (ELTACH) is a specialized facility focused on providing care for patients with serious, complex medical conditions requiring extended hospital stays. These patients often need ongoing, intensive care after leaving a traditional hospital but are not yet well enough to transition to rehabilitation or home care. ELTACH treats about 400 patients a year with an average 30-day length of stay, 95% of whom come directly from an ICU setting and 65% on ventilators. The acuity level at ELTACH is one of the highest in the nation.
This role defines the Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) as a clinician at the inpatient and outpatient departments, employing evidence-based practices, participating in department initiatives, and growing professionally. Adheres to Emory Behavioral Standards and Service Culture Guidelines, provides Patient and Family Centered Care, and consistently meets quality and safety goals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS include medium exertion, lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, and environmental exposures. Use of PPE, including respirators, may be required depending on tasks and work area.
