Job summary

St. Louis Children’s Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Care Assistant to join the Respiratory Team on a PRN basis. This role offers hands-on experience and the opportunity to work around a student’s schedule while delivering basic respiratory care activities under supervision.

The position pays $20/hour for less than 1 year of experience and $21/hour for more than 1 year of experience, and requires current enrollment in a Respiratory School Program. No prior experience is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No Experience
• Basic Cardiovascular Life Support (BCLS) certification may be required.
• Resp Educatnl Permit-MO Only preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic routine respiratory procedures in general care areas according to established standards and policies.
• Recognizes and seeks assistance with abnormal findings or changes in patient status.
• Communicates effectively, documents, and participates in handoffs with the healthcare team.
• Maintains time management and prioritizes tasks while showing willingness to learn.
• Processes equipment according to manufacturer and industry standards.
