Job summary

Atrium Health Navicent in Macon, GA seeks a Respiratory Therapy Assistant to support licensed practitioners by performing basic respiratory care tasks under supervision.

You will ensure regulatory compliance, assist with equipment and patient care, and participate in safety and quality improvement activities, with potential for growth within the respiratory care program.

Qualifications

• Completes all regulatory requirements.
• Completesproficiencyevaluation ofrespiratory care equipment and procedures.

Minimum Job Requirements

Education

• A minimum of a High School diploma or GEDrequired. Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Respiratory
• Care educational program approved by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)and/or AMA.
• North Carolina:Successfulcompletion of 1 year ofan accredited Respiratory Careprogramrequired.
• Georgia:Senior studentofanaccredited Respiratory Care programrequired.

Certification / Registration / License

• Basic Life Support for healthcareproviders thru the American Heart Associationrequired.
• Advanced certificationsper facility/department.
• North Carolina only:Registered with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB) asaRespiratory Care Assistant (RCA).

Works under the supervision of a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner and performs various general respiratory care duties as outlined per North Carolina licensing board or Georgia licensing board. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age specific care to the following patient populations: neonatal, infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
