Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; NCRCB RCA registration; enrolled in AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program.
• No work experience required.
• English proficiency and calmness in stressful hospital settings.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains adequate supplies for the department.
• Picks up dirty equipment and processes it for clean supply readiness.
• Performs testing of Cidex and other solutions used by the department.
• Administers continuous oxygen and bland aerosol therapy as directed.
• Does not participate in invasive procedures or critical care.
• Educates patients on Incentive Spirometry use.
• Performs CPT per department guidelines.
• Charges for all services, including BCX system usage.
• Performs arterial punctures.
• Other duties as assigned.
