    Job Description Summary:

    The Respiratory Care Assistant II performs respiratory care therapies as allowed by the Ohio Medical Board Limited Permit and equipment setup, under the direction and supervision of a Respiratory Care Professional (RCP). The Respiratory Care Assistant II is authorized to access the unit medication rooms or bedside medication drawers in order to retrieve medications they are authorized to administer.

    Job Description:

    Essential Functions:
    • Performs all competencies in the Respiratory Care Assistant 1 position.
    • Effectively offers preventative care to assess, educate, and treat patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies.
    • Provides Respiratory Care using a Family Centered Approach.
    • Assesses individualized patient cardiopulmonary needs and communicates them to the care team.
    • Embraces the interdisciplinary care model and stays aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing and understanding quality improvement.

    Education Requirement:

    Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited respiratory care educational program.


    Licensure Requirement:

    Current Ohio Limited Permit to practice respiratory care, required.


    Certifications:

    CPR, required.
