Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast in Pasadena, Texas, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to guide patients through routine and critical care with access to advanced respiratory technology and mentorship from RT leaders.

You will perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, manage ventilation and airway support, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality care in varied settings. Travel is not required.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or GED.
• Respiratory care program credential and related degree/certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess respiratory status and interpret breath sounds to determine interventions.
• Deliver evidence-based therapy including oxygen, aerosols, and airway clearance techniques.
• Manage ventilation and airway support, including invasive and noninvasive ventilation as appropriate.
• Educate patients and families and coordinate with physicians and staff to stabilize patients.
• Ensure equipment readiness, cleaning, and infection-control compliance.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Respiratory Therapist,you’llplay an essential role in guiding patients through both routine care and critical moments.You’llperform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while managing invasive and noninvasive ventilation across a variety of care settings.You’llhave access to advanced respiratory technology, mentorship from experienced RT leaders, and the support of a dependable, collaborative team that will set you up for success and ongoing professional growth. Your role will include:

• Assessing respiratory statusby performing focused exams, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, anddeterminingthe need for respiratory interventions.
• Deliveringevidence-based therapyby providing oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments across emergency, critical care, and acute settings.
• Managing ventilation and airwaysbyassistingwith artificial airway placement,initiatingand adjusting invasive and noninvasive ventilation,monitoringpatientresponses, and responding quickly to clinical changes or emergencies.
• Supporting patients and the care teamby educating patients and families, serving as a clinical resource, partnering with physicians and nurses, and helping stabilize newborns during deliveries when needed.
• Maintainingequipment and safetyby setting up,operating, and cleaning respiratory equipment; ensuring readiness and preventive maintenance; transporting ventilated patients safely; and following all infection-prevention standards.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• (NBRC-RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist
• (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner
• High School Graduate / GED
• Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree, or Certificate
