Job summary

Orange School District is seeking an Elementary School Teacher with a focus on students with disabilities to join a cooperative educational team at Lincoln Elementary. The Special Education Teacher will create a supportive classroom climate and deliver services aligned with each student’s IEP, using approved curricula and district directives.

The role requires collaboration with the Child Study Team, staff, and parents to promote academic excellence and inclusive learning.

Qualifications

• Must hold appropriate teaching certification for elementary education.
• Special Education certification/endorsement preferred.
• Experience working with students with disabilities aplus.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized learning experiences and supervision for students with disabilities in a supportive classroom.
• Collaborate with Child Study Team, school staff and parents to meet IEP goals.
• Develop skills, attitudes and knowledge aligned with State Core Curriculum Standards.

Job Description/Summary

Assumes professional responsibility for providing specialized learning experiences and supervision of students with disabilities in a supportive and positive classroom climate that develops in each student the skills, attitudes, and knowledge to meet and exceed the State Core Curriculum Content Standards as outlined in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for the student, using approved curricula and directives of the school. Achieving academic excellence requires that the Special Education Teacher work collaboratively with other members of the school staff, particularly the Child Study Team, and with parents of each student.

• Commensurate with education and experience

Starting salary begins at $73,289.00
