Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Float/Flex Team. You will deliver compassionate, high‑quality care, perform critical assessments, and implement patient care plans while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to support recovery in a fast paced environment.

This role requires CA RN licensure, ACLS and BLS on hire, with PALS and NRP within 6 months. You will float to departments, adapt education to patient needs, make independent clinical decisions, and

Qualifications

  • Requires CA RN license and nursing degree.
  • Requires ACLS and BLS on hire.
  • PALS and NRP within 6 months of hire.
  • One year of Cardiac Telemetry or higher level ICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Floats to departments as assigned and ensures patient handoff is seamless.
  • Performs routine assessments and follows the care plan and guidelines.
  • Forms and implements a plan of care addressing individual patient needs and transitional care.
  • Adapts education to patient and family during care delivery.
  • Ensures efficiency in care delivery and prioritization of immediate needs.
  • Makes independent clinical decisions based on education and experience.

  • Floats to departments as assigned and accepts assignments and duties with a professional approach so that patient hand off is done without interruption of care
  • Performs routine physical/psychosocial assessment to collect basic data: follows the written plan of care, standards, practice guidelines, utilizes pathways, which includes notifying physicians as appropriate
  • Formulates a plan of care for individual needs, including patient population needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs (i.e. treatment options, patient placement options)
  • Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and family by modifying teaching strategies or content. Integrates education during the delivery of patient care
  • Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care to determine immediate priorities and to offer solutions for problems
  • Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience
Job Requirements

Required:

  • Associate Of Nursing 1-year consecutive recent (within the lastfive years) Cardiac Telemetry experienceor higher level critical unit experience. Maytrain when operational considerationsallow., upon hire or
  • Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire and
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 6 - months and
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program, within 6 - months
