Job summary

The Lansing School District is hiring a Specialized Assistant to support students, especially those with disabilities, in assigned classrooms. You will work closely with teachers, build relationships with students and families, and help maintain a safe, engaging learning environment.

Ideal candidates will have an Associate's Degree or 60 college credits and be prepared to pursue teaching certification. This 0.875 FTE position pays $21.42–$25.66 per hour and offers opportunities for growth within

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications include an Associate's Degree or 60 college credits or proof of passing the ETS Paraprofessional Exam.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate passion for working with students, especially in one on one and small group situations, and especially students with special education needs
Effectively prioritize tasks as assigned by teachers and school leaders
Ensure safety of students on caseload
Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions
Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment
Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission
