South Shore Health Emerson 3 Med Surg Geriatrics in Weymouth, MA is seeking a Resource RN on a part-time basis. The role leads department operations during shifts, coordinates patient placement, and supports staff with clinical leadership while performing patient care as needed.

Responsibilities include staffing reviews, adherence to safety and regulatory standards, effective communication, and real-time problem resolution to ensure smooth patient throughput and care progression.

Qualifications

• BSN required or enrolled; must be completed within 3 years of hire.
• Minimum 3 years full-time nursing in a specialty area.
• Massachusetts RN license required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications; additional certifications may be required.
• Strong leadership, communication and patient flow coordination abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee department operations for defined shift; assign staff and patient placement.
• Lead shift huddles and interdisciplinary rounds; ensure care progression.
• Provide direct patient care as needed and serve as clinical resource.
• Review staffing for current and next shifts; offer suggestions for coverage.
• Support compliance, safety events documentation, and regulatory readiness.
• Support staff development and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
