Qualifications

Resource & Referral - Project Specialist

Position is 100% On-Site - Los Angeles CA 90056
What We're Looking For:

We are looking for aProject Specialist that will assist with operational oversight, planning, facilitation, and reporting functions of the agency's Child Care Initiative Project (CCIP), provider learning activities, professional development trainings, resource center support, special events, outreach, and other specially funded projects. This includes providing day-to-day management, tracking, and reporting of activities.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following Responsibilities:
  1. Engage in outreach and recruitment activities for family, friend, and neighbors, license-exempt, and licensed child care providers into the CCIP Project including assessment of licensing and capacity building readiness.
  2. Develop, plan, schedule, coordinate, and/or facilitate early learning activities, meetings, information sessions/orientations, focus/support groups, and trainings.
  3. Schedule, monitor, and conduct pre- and post- licensing home visits and provide technical assistance to family, friend, and neighbor, license and license-exempt providers.
  4. Oversee and assist in the daily management, showcasing, marketing, tracking, and reporting of CCIP and all other assigned projects.
  5. Assist in ordering, maintaining, and tracking project supplies and/or educational materials for provider incentives.
  6. Prepare data for periodic status reports as required by funded contracts or audits, i.e., monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and/or annual basis.
  7. Coordinate and/or assist in the implementation of special events/projects and specially funded projects in collaboration with department and/or agency leadership.
  8. Represent the department and agency at partner and/or community meetings; Community Care Licensing Orientations; participate in work groups and/or ad hoc groups, as necessary.
  9. Keep abreast of legislative issues, child care business resources, and community care licensing regulatory changes affecting family, friend, and neighbor, license-exempt, licensed child care providers, and the child care landscape.
  10. Work with other department staff and other agency departments to connect services to parents, providers, and/or establish and leverage community partnerships.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by R&R Leadership and/or Senior Management.
  12. Ability to evenings and weekends, as needed
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES YOU SHOULD POSSESS:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, Child/Human Development, or related field, or equivalent, preferred. Associate's degree acceptable with relevant, verifiable work experience required.

  • Minimum two years in child development/ECE field teaching/working with young children, in either center-based, family child care or public/private school. One to two years of experience developing and implementing age and developmentally appropriate early learning and child development activities and/or curriculum for adult learners preferred. Experience planning, implementing, and coordinating projects that require collaboration with diverse groups and coordination of resources.
